Plans unveiled for 24 new homes on fields next to Berrow School

-

24 new homes could be built in Berrow if plans submitted this week are given the go-ahead.

S.Notaro Limited is seeking full planning permission for the development on land to the east of Rose Tree Paddock in Berrow.

The plans are for the construction of 24 dwellings, garages plus the formation of a new access area and 40 car parking spaces for the school, and a childrens play area.

The proposed development includes four 3-bed ‘market’ homes and eleven 4-bed ‘market’ homes. There will also be three 1-bed affordable bungalows, two 2-bed affordable bungalows, two 2-bed affordable homes, and a further two affordable 3-bed homes.

“A new 40-space Primary School car park would be located to the west of the children’s play area and adjacent to the primary school with a new pedestrian access created between the car park and primary school grounds,” says the developer.

“Provision for the 40-space car park for the school seeks to alleviate existing congestion along Rose Tree Paddock and Rugosa Drive at school drop off and pick-up times and is proposed following liaison with the School Head Teacher.”

Residents have until December 12th 2014 to submit feedback on the plans to Sedgemoor District Council’s planning department. The application reference number is 05/14/00022.
