Brent Knoll villager’s letter to Daily Telegraph airs concern over local potholes

-

A Brent Knoll resident has aired his concerns about the time it takes to get local potholes repaired in a national newspaper.

Brian Freestone had a humorous letter about the issue published in the Daily Telegraph last week.

It states simply: “Overheard in a local supermarket from a lorry driver delivering eggs: ‘The reason some of the eggs are cracked is the number of potholes we have to drive over’.”

Brian told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It takes far too long to get potholes repaired so my letter was aimed at raising awareness.”

“The letter appears to have worked. Since it was published, the county council’s highways team has been out and painted red circles around the potholes, offering us hope that they will be filled in soon!”
