Burnham and Highbridge volunteers improve standard of public flower beds

-

Volunteers at Burnham and Highbridge In Bloom community working group have taken part in two workshops to improve the standard of public flower beds.

The volunteers recently responded to an appeal for help and grabbed gloves and small garden tools to work in each town centre.

Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Lesley Millard says: “Our main aim was to tidy up some of the flower beds and to start planting suitable plants for a coastal flower bed that will be climate hardy.”

“The beds in Burnham contain just that sort of planting and now look pristine! The one in Highbridge will be planted in a similar way and mulched with bark.”

“We worked in partnership with Clean Surroundings who were really helpful and took away all the rubbish. They will also be providing the bark free of charge.”

Another workshop is being planned after Christmas – with more details to follow.
