A Burnham-On-Sea runner is taking on a challenge to raise money for Macmillan Nurses.
Carol Hampton is running and jogging 60km through the month as part of a national challenge to raise funds and awareness.
She scaled Brean Down, Glastonbury Tor and Brent Knoll on Friday evening (June 6th) as part of the activity.
As featured here, Carol was diagnosed with ocular melanoma, a tumour behind the left iris, in November 2023 and she has been getting treatment since with support from Macmillan Nurses.
She adds: “Life changes with a cancer diagnosis but staying positive, focused and motivated while looking after yourself physically and mentally, spending lots of time with family and friends, all help your wellbeing.”
“Macmillan Nurses are wonderful – they provide valuable advice and support. They do such a great job, and the funds raised will go towards their service.”
Macmillan Nurses are specialist cancer nurses funded by Macmillan Cancer Support who provide information, support, and care for individuals living with cancer. They work in various settings, including hospitals, hospices, and the community, and can be a key point of contact for patients and their families.
