The Head of Geography at Highbridge’s King Alfred School has had her latest book published to help thousands of children.

Catherine Owen delivers inspirational teaching to students at the school, which officially became an Academy this week.

Her latest book has been published to help pupils across the UK with their KS3 geography lessons.

Catherine worked among a team of five authors to write the ‘Progress in Geography’ textbook for Hodder Education.

An experienced writer, she has previously written books for the Geographical Association (GA) and OUP, and also delivers training across the country.

Catherine said: “I am proud to have been able to work on such a prestigious project and appreciate the encouragement King Alfred School has given me.”

“The King Alfred School geography department is a GA Centre of Excellence with a desire to be the best of the best. These are very exciting days at the school and for the whole community.”

She is currrently helping students achieve some of the most improved GCSE results in Somerset.
