Hundreds of people filled Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens on Bank Holiday Monday for the town’s popular annual summer fete.

The event – which included a range of traditional entertainment and games – was organised by the Burnham Events Social Team (BEST) for the first time.

Co-organiser Peter Burridge-Clayton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a fantastic day that exceeded our expectations.”

“We had superb weather and a great turnout. I thank the BEST team for all their work and all the groups and who supported us by attending on the day.”

The event, which was opened by Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress Michael and Maria Clarke, was expected to have raised hundreds of pounds for the groups and charities involved.
