A fundraising family fun day at a Burnham-On-Sea pub raised £1,000 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Crowds of people headed to the Lighthouse Pub on Saturday (August 17th), enjoying a day of music and activities in the sunshine.

A group of five people organised the successful event — Jess Green, Rob Coombes, Julie Plested, Dave Haggett and Dan Hodge.

Rob said: “It went really well, we were delighted with the turnout and we thank everyone for their support, including Hillview Carnival Club and King Alfred Amateur Boxing Club plus the help of CRS Building Supplies, Jays Logistics and, of course, and the Lighthouse pub.”

“The event was an outstanding success with over £1000 raised for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Many local acts gave up their time and talents for free, for which we are very grateful.”

“The money raised will be going to help keep this extremely vital service in the air and helping our local community get the necessary help when it’s required.”

he added: “I would like to personally thank Julie & Derek Plested for all their hard work in securing the all the raffle and tombola prizes also to Dave Hagget, Jess from the Lighthouse Inn and all her staff for the hard work.”
