Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Mayoress were the special guests at a special Girlguiding fun day on Saturday (February 21st).

Martin and Arlene Cox attended the World Guiding Thinking Day held at King Alfred School in Highbridge, where over 130 youngsters aged 5-15 had gathered.

They included Brownies, Guides and Rainbows from Burnham, Brent Knoll, Highbridge and Berrow.

Organiser Kate Sutton told Burnham-On-Sea.com the successful event had featured trampolining, singing, interactive science activities, drumming and Bollywood dancing through the day. The annual event is held in memory of Connie Robb.

Mayor Martin Cox said: “We were impressed with the event – it’s great to know that there are so many Brownies, Guides and Rainbows in our lovely seaside town, all adding to the community spirit and making this a better place for us all.”
