A fundraising race night held at Highbridge’s Oaktree Arena has been hailed a success after raising over £1,100 for the charity ‘Children with Cancer UK’.

The event, held on Saturday March 10th, was organised by Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser Lindsey Ripley as part of her efforts to help the charity.

She’s also running the London Marathon for the charity in April, as we recently reported here.

“A big thank you goes to everyone who came along and supported the event – we had a good turnout and I’m really pleased we raised a total of £1,103.37,” Lindsey told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Children With Cancer UK do the most marvellous work supporting families at the most difficult of times. I was so touched when I heard about their work.”

“Cancer is the UK’s biggest child killer and ‘Children with Cancer UK’ is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.”

“Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. The charity aims to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer, improving young lives.”
