Burnham-On-Sea groups team up to remove litter along Queen’s Drive

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Rotary Club and Army Cadets joined forces at the weekend to carry out a litter pick along the town’s Queen’s Drive ahead of the busy summer holiday period.

The team of 11 litter pickers collected several bin bags full of discarded rubbish over the course of several hours on Sunday 17th July.

The squad consisted of 4 Rotarians – Jane Gibbs, Dennis Davey, Mike Young and Stuart Adams – plus seven army cadets with their sergeant, pictured here.

Burnham Rotary Club’s Stuart Adams told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The cadets did a wonderful job to pick up rubbish that the Rotarians, with the best will in the world, were not able to reach!”

“The amount of rubbish, presumably discarded by vehicle drivers, was again unbelievable but it is, of course, most unlikely that any of the guilty drivers will read this and even less likely, think that it might apply to them!”
