The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wet and windy weather in the Burnham-On-Sea area today (Tuesday, December 18th).
The warning is in force from 5am-9pm this evening with forecasters warning of heavy, persistent showers and strong southerly winds gusting over 50mph.
The Met Office warning predicts that spray and surface water on roads will make journey times longer, flooding is possible, public transport may be affected, and that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves.
Winds will gradually ease in the afternoon, and the rain will clear to showers in the evening. Despite the poor conditions, it will be a mild day with a maximum temperature of 11°C.
