More than £2,400 has been handed to several Burnham-On-Sea groups this week following fundraising by the town’s Moose Lodge.
Members presented the money to three good causes, having raised the money during recent fundraising events.
£1,000 was given to the Freewheelers blood bikes after a recent successful fundraising holistic weekend.
£405 was handed to the BAY Centre’s roof repair fund following the recent Rock and Chips fundraiser at Burnham’s Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.
And £1,000 was given to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, raised during the group’s recent holistic weekend.
Air ambulance fund-raisers Colin Thomas and Dave Bowling received the cheque from Moose fundraisers. Colin said: “It costs £3,500 a day to keep the air ambulance flying, and the £1,000 will be very useful.”
Furthermore, a ticketed coffee morning, featuring a tombola, raffle, and cake stall was held last Friday. It was attended by Burnham’s Mayor Ken Smout, and raised further money for various local good causes.
