TV presenter John Craven will be the guest speaker at Wedmore’s 100th annual Harvest Home later this month.

Mr Craven, pictured, is best known for being the host of the BBC1’s former long-running children’s news programme, Newsround, and he currently presents Countryfile.

He will be proposing a toast and giving a speach during the traditional Wedmore Harvest Home Lunch on Friday August 17th.

Tickets for the event are available to over 16s at £16 each and can be bought by calling Arthur Gadd on 01934 713063. The deadline for ticket sales is this Friday, August 3rd.

Mr Craven was awarded the OBE in 2000 for services to rural and children’s broadcasting. And in November 2011, he accepted a Children’s BAFTA award for Newsround which had been running for over 40 years.
