Police issue appeal after early morning crash on M5 motorway near Burnham-On-Sea

Burnham-On-Sea Police are seeking witnesses to a single-vehicle collision on the M5 in the early hours of Monday 14th October.

The crash happened at about 12.42am between junctions 22 for Burnham-On-Sea and 21 for Weston-super-Mare.

An orange three-door VW Polo collided with the central reservation. The occupants fled the vehicle before officers arrived.

“We want to hear from anyone who saw how the orange Polo was being driven in the moments leading up to the collision, or who saw people in the carriageway immediately afterwards,” said a Police spokesman.

A man was arrested nearby and was released under investigation.
