M5 re-opens after serious overnight crash

The M5 motorway has re-opened after being closed in both directions in north Somerset this morning (Monday December 1st) following a “serious collision” late on Sunday evening. 

The M5 has opened in both ways between J21 near Weston and J20 near Clevedon, says Avon and Somerset Police.

The motorway closures began at 12.45am after a serious collision. 

Diversions were in place and traffic monitoring site INRIX reported alternative routes were very busy, as shown below.
