Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre is hosting the town’s second annual Talent Showcase in aid of local charity Somewhere House Somerset today (Saturday, February 13th).

Up and coming bands and musicians will be performing live in front of a team of judges.

The top prize will be a set at Farm Festival later this year and the judging panel will feature a representative from Bristol label, Jelli Records.

“Last year went really well,” says Lewis Coleman from organisers Blue Sky Theatre & Arts. “The judges thought the acts were very good, awarding many of them gigs at various festivals and events.

“It was a fun night and it was brilliant to see so many people out to support the local talent.”

Corin Hughes, half of last year’s winning duo The Crafters, pictured top, said: “It felt amazing and we were so grateful they chose us! The judges made some fantastic comments which boosted our confidence and we had some awesome gigs out of it.”

This year’s line-up features a diverse range of musical acts. The show starts at 7pm at The Princess. Audience tickets are just £5 and are available from The Princess or on the door.

All proceeds go to Burnham’s Somewhere House Somerset, a charity that offers counselling to those who can’t afford it.
