Burnham-On-Sea’s Trinity Rise Christmas lights display has raised a total of £8,275 for local charities over the five weeks of the festive period.

The eight homes were decorated top-to-bottom with more than 100,000 lights with the display open from the start of December until January 5th.

The lights raised over £5,000 last year and this year’s mild weather appears to have boosted visitor numbers.

This year’s collection will go to PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust, BARB Search & Rescue and the Musgrove Maternity Unit Trust Fund.

Roger Flower, one of the residents, said: “We get great satisfaction from seeing people enjoy the lights and because we are doing it for such worthwhile causes.”
