Highbridge warehouse ‘was set alight deliberately’ say fire crews

Fire crews were called to a warehouse blaze in Tyler Way, Highbridge, on Sunday afternoon, November 27th.

Four appliances from Bridgwater and Burnham, plus one support appliance from Street were mobilised at 3.50pm after the fire service was alerted to smoke emerging from a warehouse.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet and two crew using breathing apparatus and the building was ventilated.

A spokesman said: “It turned out to be a large rubbish fire inside a wooden building.”

“Damage was caused only to the rubbish. The fire had been set deliberately,” he added.
