A new ‘dark ride’ rollercoaster is set to open next week at Brean Leisure Park.

Called Astro Storm, the park’s promotional literature says the ride will “plunge riders into the depths of space, experiencing 2 Gs in pitch black drops while spinning through meteor storms in an intergalactic battle full of amazing special effects and surprises.”

The new ride is located behind Shockwave at the back of the park inside an impressive futuristic building.

Fun park owner David Cadell told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Following a year of planning and building, the opening of this exciting project shows our strong commitment to being the foremost thrill ride park in the South West.”

“Astro Storm is the quality of ride that you would experience at parks such as Alton Towers. We are also pleased to announce that in spite of our huge investment in this project there is no extra charge to our visitors as Astro Storm is included in our wristband.”

The new ride will be previewed this coming weekend and will be officially launched on Monday 25th July.

Burnham-On-Sea.com reported earlier this year that the new ride is part of a £2million investment in new facilities at the park.
