Pauline Kidner, founder of Secret World and Debbie O’Keefe, fundraiser from the wildlife rescue centre, are pictured below alongside some of the members of Burnham-based performing arts group Curtain Call as they handed over a cheque for £820 this week.

The money was raised from their summer production held at the Princess back in July when the school of performing arts played to a very appreciative full house and entertained them with a variety of animal themed numbers ranging from The Lion King and Cats to Seal and The Eagles.

Principal Patricia Ham said: “We are really pleased to support such a worthwhile charity like Secret World. The staff at the centre devote themselves to the care and rehabilitation of our wildlife and the money raised will be put to excellent use.”

“I’d like to thank Julie Dennelly, a good friend and talented artist for her donation – a painting of the famous otters Splish, Splash and Splosh. The painting was auctioned at the Secret World masked ball last month, which added to our donation.”

As 2006 comes to a close, Curtain Call has had another highly successful year, they have been out entertaining the local community, have continued their excellent exam results and are pleased to have Lis Holliman as their RAD Ballet teacher to complete the team.

As a result, Curtain Call are opening a branch in Burnham-on-Sea at the Community Centre on January 8th where new students will be welcome. For more information on classes call 07757 805 291.
