Rotary fundraisers steer towards £620 during cattle market competition!

-

More than £600 was raised for charity when Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club members held one of their most unusual fundraising events at Highbridge Fatstock Market this week.

Visitors to the market were encouraged to guess the distance between the horn tips of a huge steer provided by local farmer Arthur Duckett!

A ton of animal feed from BOCM Pauls was up for grabs for the entrant who was able to give the most accurate guess.

And the event was a huge success – raising £624 for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and Somerset Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital.

Mr John Booth of Weston-super-Mare took the top prize with a correct estimate of 53.5 inches.

The Rotary Club of Burnham-On-Sea organised the event, collected entry forms and donations, and were delighted with how much was raised.

The Club thanked Mr Maurice Wall of J H Palmer & Sons, Mr Duckett, and BOCM Pauls for their generous support.
