Property prices have risen in Burnham-On-Sea by 10% over the past year, according to a new study this week.

Estate agents in the town say there has been strong interest from buyers over the summer.

Online property service Zoopla says prices in Burnham have risen 1.8% in the last three months, and 8.6% over the past six months. Over the longer term, it says there has been a 10.03% increase over the past year and 12.4% over two years.

Julian Frost at Abbott and Frost told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There’s plenty of activity and positivity in Burnham’s housing market.”

“It has been a busy year with good levels of sales and interest over the summer and a slightly quieter September.”

“I would say we’ve seen a typical increase of around eight per cent across the board in Burnham and Highbridge over the past year. We are hopeful for another positive year ahead.”

The increases come after two years of stagnant prices in the Burnham and Highbridge area during the financial downturn.
