More than 200 dignitaries, former service personnel and representatives from local groups gathered at Burnham-On-Sea’s war memorial on Sunday morning, November 12th, to mark Remembrance Day.

Wreaths were laid by Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Eric Gill, Sedgemoor District Council’s Deputy Chairman Cllr Dennis Davey and scores of other leaders from key groups in the town during the annual ceremony at the War Memorial.

Two minutes’ silence was held at exactly 11am followed by the playing of the Last Post.

A procession then followed along Love Lane to St Andrew’s Church where a service marking the occasion took place.
