A budding young magician from Highbridge has been invited to perform on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent this weekend.

Martin Masterman, 16, will be travelling to Cardiff this weekend to perform card tricks in front of the judges at the auditions for the hit TV show.

Martin, a former King Alfred School student, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s exciting to be taking part.”

“I applied to the show back in July so it was quite a shock to get an email out of the blue on Friday inviting me along to the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Cardiff this Saturday!”

He added: “I’ve always loved magic and have been performing card tricks with the help of YouTube.”

“I’ve learnt some great tricks and have been getting some great reactions from family and friends at college and previously at school.”

“I just hope the judges love my tricks too!”

The last local person in the Burnham-On-Sea area to take part on the TV show was young Brent Knoll singer Gracie Wickens-Sweet who reached the semi-finals in 2015.
