Youngsters
flock to Burnham-On-Sea sea safety day

Over
40 children from schools in the Burnham-On-Sea area got the opportunity
to visit the town's marine rescue services on
Saturday (April 26th)
during a special Young Persons' Coastal
Day.
Burnham's
lifeboat, hovercraft and Coastguard stations opened for the event,
which helped the youngsters learn more about sea and beach safety,
plus understand how the rescue crews conduct their work.
The
successful event was jointly run by representatives from Burnham
RNLI, BARB and the Coastguard.
The
youngsters got a chance to see the Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft
and Staines Whitfield lifeboat launch from Burnham beach.
"The
Young Persons' Coastal Day was a great success if the response
I got from the children and their parents is anything to go by.
I very much appreciate the support, effort and time of all those
involved," said organiser Tony Deahl.
