presenter named as judge of Burnham-On-Sea baking contest
heat is on in the search to find Burnham-On-Sea's baking champion
of the year!
Great Burnham Bake Off will take place as part of Burnham-On-Sea's
Food & Drink Festival on Saturday May 25th.
will be judged by BBC Somerset radio presenter Ben McGrail, pictured
right, it was announced this week.
almost 50 entries last year, the contest has been expanded to
include four competitions and professional categories comprising
bread, sugar craft, uniced cake and tarts.
bakers can enter any of the four competitions as either individual
bakers or families. The best individual entries and family entries
in each category will go head-to-head in the finals to win the

and champion baker trophies will be awarded in both competitions.
McGrail said: "I'm delighted to be judging the Great Burnham
Bake Off this year. I like both Burnham on Sea and baked goods
so it seemed like a good idea! Somerset has a great food history
and it'll be fantastic to see what exciting and tasty treats people
can rustle up at the festival."

Bake Off is great for community - it's great to involve all the
villages around Burnham. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be
