Christmas lights help raise cash for Burnham hovercraft

One of Burnham-On-Sea’s hovercraft team has come with a bright idea for raising funds for the group.

Crew member Nigel Marshall has decorated his home in Paddock Drive, Highbridge with dozens of Christmas lights and is asking passers-by to dig deep into their pockets for the hovercraft.

His home is a blaze of colour with illuminated reindeers, a giant inflatable Santa and scores of other festive decorations.

Nigel said: “We were thinking about decorating the outside of our house mainly for the benefit of Billy, our three-year-old son, but we thought we’d also try to raise some money for a local group at the same time.”

“Given that I’m so close to the hovercraft, we thought making the group the main beneficiary of our fundraising was a good idea.”
