Tandem cyclists raise £1,000 in ride from Torquay to Burnham-On-Sea

-

Two cyclists from Burnham-On-Sea have completed a fundraising tandem bike ride to raise more than £1,000 for charity.

Natasha Salter and Clare Kingston have ridden from Torquay to Burnham over two days in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

The duo, who work at the Nationwide Building Society, visited every one of the firm’s branches along the route to collect donations from supportive colleagues.

Family, friends and staff gathered at the branch in Burnham-On-Sea to welcome them back to the town at the end of their feat.

Clare told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We thank everyone who’s supported us along the route – there have been so many friendly and welcoming people.”

And Natasha added: “We are both a bit overwhelmed at how supportive everyone has been – it’s been fantastic. We’ve raised over £1,000 which has already exceeded what we expected to raise!”

Nationwide’s area manager welcomed the cycling duo back to Burnham
