Burnham-On-Sea Mayor leads respects to two Berrow crash victims

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Berrow Parish Council have this week paid their respects to two men who died in a car accident in Berrow on Sunday morning (February 26th).

As reported here, a black BMW M3 travelling from Brean in the direction of Burnham careered off Coast Road in thick fog at 4.45am near the entrance to Sandy Glade holiday park. Emergency crews rushed to the scene but nothing could be done to save the two men – aged 37 and 25 – who were trapped in the wreckage.

Burnham’s Mayor, Cllr Michael Clarke, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It has been such a shock to everyone that such an accident like this should happen in our area. Our thoughts go out to the families affected at this difficult time.”

And Berrow Parish Council clerk Lynn Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I would like to extend the council’s sympathy to the family and friends of the two gentlemen who tragically lost their lives here.”

Meanwhile, police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward by contacting their non-emergency number, 101.
