Foster carers drop-in session being held in Burnham-On-Sea today

-

A special drop-in event about fostering is being held in Burnham-On-Sea this morning (Saturday 25th January).

The event is being organised by independent fostering agency, Channel Fostercare, based in Highbridge, which has foster carers registered throughout Somerset and surrounding counties.

The drop-in information morning is being held from 10am–1pm at The Dunstan House Inn in Love Lane, Burnham.

“We train and guide Foster Carers so that a professional standard of care results in positive outcomes for a child,” explained a spokesperson.

“Channel is recruiting people from all walks of life to be Foster Carers and would like to meet with anyone who believes they have something to give to vulnerable children.”

“If you are interested in finding out more about what is involved in fostering or have any questions to ask please call in for a coffee and a chat with members of the Channel team.”

“There has been much coverage in the national press recently about the desperate need for more than 8,600 foster carers in the UK. Foster carers provide a home to vulnerable children and young people whilst supporting them with meeting their individual needs.”
