First look inside Burnham-On-Sea's
new £1.6m leisure centre
A
new £1.6m health club on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea
is set to open its doors to the public later this month.
Construction
work on Home Farm's new Leisure Centre is slightly behind schedule,
but is due to be completed during the next few weeks.
And
Burnham-On-Sea.com was this week given an exclusive first look
inside the building, which boasts a wide range of facilities.
The
centre - which is generating around 10 new jobs - includes a 13m
x 15m swimming pool incorporating a 7m x 7m fun pool, a sauna
and steam room.
It
also has a fitness suite with running machines and gym equipment
in an upstairs glass-walled area overlooking the pool, plus a
tanning area and a Starbucks coffee shop.
The
centre is currently filling vacancies for assistant managers,
fitness instructors and receptionists - and more details are available
from 01278 788888 (ex 201) or via email.
The
complex will be open to the general public on a membership basis
and has already signed up its first members.
Park
owner Steve Atkinson, pictured above, told Burnham-On-Sea.com
this week: "The building work is slightly behind schedule,
but we're confident it will be completed later this month, allowing
us to open at the end of January."
"We're
delighted with how the centre is starting to look and all the
new equipment is being moved in over the next few days. The excitement
leading up to the opening event is starting to build now."
Burnham-On-Sea.com
was first to report
plans for the two-storey health club in December 2007.
