has been mostly positive.

uplift due to the wider economic gloom, the majority have reported
brisk business over the festive period.
has spoken to a cross-section of shops this week to gather feedback.
Bennett at Bastins said: "We've been really busy in the last
couple of weeks after a slow start at the beginning of December.
It's picked up and we've hit our sales targets."
Noonan at Shoe Zone added: "Trade has fluctuated a lot over
the last few weeks, but overall it's been positive. Pairs of slippers
have been our biggest seller this Christmas!"
Keen at Sentiments added: "We've seen very positive trade
in the run-up to Christmas and are pleased with how it's gone."
Barber at Bessies Sweet Shoppe agreed it had been a positive period:
"We've been very busy - it's great to see people supporting
local businesses by doing their Christmas shopping in Burnham."
Colin Morris at GW Hurley added: "Trade has been fair, but
not fantastic. It's not been an amazing Christmas but we are up
on last year."
