New Burnham and Highbridge Carnival Queen to be chosen tonight

-

A new Queen and Princesses for the annual Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival will be crowned this evening (Friday).

The winners will be picked at a pageant taking place in Burnham Holiday Village where the judges will choose the girls to lead November’s carnival procession.

The entrants will be asked to answer questions about their hobbies and interests and show an awareness of the community, plus a knowledge and understanding of the district.

One of the organisers, Linda Bullimore, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Carnival Queen will be chosen as an ambassador for the Carnival as well as the precincts of Highbridge and Burnham. It is hoped that the Carnival Queen will assist with community cohesion projects in the area over the year.”

The pageant evening will include entertainment from the Lucy Gunter Dance School and a Katy Perry tribute.
