Highbridge sports centre launches fitness challenge for men

-

Men in the Burnham-On-Sea area aged between 40 and 59 are being encouraged to join a fitness challenge at King Alfred Sports Centre in Highbridge from March.

Sedgemoor District Council is working in partnership with 1610, the firm that runs the Highbridge sports centre, to encourage people to enter a ‘Fit for Forty and Fifty’ challenge.

“The event will be free to enter and runs between 1st March and 31st May and involves a series of rowing, running and cycling challenges with three different levels to suit all abilities,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Prizes of free memberships at the centre will be available and the results will be logged and category winners notified in early June. Just contact the centre to arrange your race session.”

To get more information about the challenge, or to sign up, contact Duncan Bawler by email here or call 01278 429119.
