Seized ‘counterfeit’ goods from Highbridge market were worth £8,000

The suspected counterfeit clothing seized during last week’s swoop by Trading Standards bosses at Highbridge market had a street value of £8,000, it was confirmed on Monday (April 21st).

Burnham-On-Sea.com exclusively reported last week how police and council officials had seized a large quantity of suspected counterfeit clothing, as shown in these exclusive photos, which had been on sale at the Market.

On Monday (April 21st), Elizabeth Kulh, spokesperson for Somerset County Council’s Trading Standards Department, confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com the value of the goods seized had run into thousands of pounds.

“We can disclose the value of goods seized at Highbridge Market on Sunday April 13th had an estimated street value of approximately £8,000.”

She added that Trading Standards’ investigations are ongoing.
