Planners
give the go-ahead to Isleport Business Park expansion
District
planners have this week given the go-ahead to a thriving Burnham-On-Sea
food company to expand its premises.
Isleport
Foods is to substantially extend its premises at Isleport Business
Park, on the outskirts of Burnham, extending it northwards towards
the Yeo Valley buildings (pictured), thereby doubling the floor
area.
The
new area will be used to increase food production at the booming
centre.
Three
residents at the nearby Lakeside development had expressed concerns
that the centre is close to residential properties, with 12 loading
bays being 300 metres from the rear of one house. Residents said
they have to suffer the noise of lorries being loaded at all hours.
But
district councillors backed the plans, saying they welcome the
additional employment in the area. Delegated permission was given,
subject to the views of Environmenal Health officers.
