Orange
mobile phone mast plan rejected by Burnham councillors
An
application by phone operator Orange to build a new mobile phone
mast along Burnham-On-Sea's Marine Drive has been turned down
by town planners.
Burnham
and Highbridge town council's planning committee have rejected
a pre-planning application to locate an 11.8 metre tall mobile
phone mast along the road.
The
structure would have been 23 metres nearer the town centre than
the existing O2 phone mast, against which an enforcement notice
has already been served.
Councillors
agreed that the town clerk should inform Alder King, who are acting
on behalf of Orange, that the council would not consider an application
at this location.
