Rail
users in Burnham
and Highbridge face
disruption this winter
Burnham-On-Sea
and Highbridge rail users face disruption this winter when major
track maintenance work gets underway.
Network
Rail has announced that the line between Highbridge and Bridgwater
will be closed on 20-24 November, 27 November-1 December and 48
December.
Spokeswoman
Kirsty Anderson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This work will
require a complete closure of the railway between Highbridge and
Bridgwater. We will be working during the day and night."
"These
works are part of the extensive programme of works Network Rail
is undertaking to improve train performance and make services
more reliable between London Paddington and the West Country and
South Wales over the next three years."
