Highbridge’s forthcoming Asda supermarket has this week begun a huge recruitment drive to fill more than 100 vacancies at the store.
The jobs boost will come when the huge 40,000 square foot store in Springfield Road opens this November.
Burnham-On-Sea Job CentrePlus now has full details about the vacancies, which range from managerial roles through to shelf stackers and checkout operators. The firm will become one of the biggest employers in the Burnham and Highbridge area.
Meanwhile, Asda’s building site is starting to take shape, as pictured right.
Spokeswoman Alison Darling told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “The shell is under construction and the internal fit will go ahead in September, with the store on track to open in November.”
She added that the main supermarket building is now in place and construction work is underway on creating other buildings at the site and a new roundabout.
