Over
25 Burnham-On-Sea shops take part in regatta week treasure hunt
Over
25 shops and businesses across Burnham-On-Sea will be displaying
cryptic clues as part of a special treasure hunt organised by
the town's Chamber of Trade to coincide with the town's regatta,
which gets underway this weekend.
Each
correct clue will feature a nautical validation symbol and the
public is invited to see if they can follow the trail and be in
with a chance of winning £100 and other runners-up prizes.
Entry
forms are available from the chamber's official web page here
and from the Tourist Information Centre plus participating businesses.
Local
schools have also distributed forms to children in years nine
and below and Sedgemoor Tourism Association is circulating entry
forms to tourists.
Chairman
Alex Turco said: "We are delighted to support this year's
regatta by organising this event. The Chanber believes that Burnham
has a wide range of shops and a large variety of goods on sale.
We hope the treasure hunt will attract more people into the town
centre during the regatta period. With generous prizes on offer,
we hope as many people as possible will enter.
