BBC
Antiques Roadshow expert to lead garden centre's auction
An
antiques expert who is a regular contributor to the BBC's Antiques
Roadshow will be the guest auctioneer at a fundraising event near
Burnham-On-Sea later this month.
Philip
Taubenheim (pictured) will be auctioning theatre tickets, photographs
and holidays at Sanders Garden World in aid of the Animals Asia
Foundation (AAF) on Saturday June 14th.
Peter
Burks, General Manager at the Brent Knoll garden centre, said:
"We are delighted that Philip Taubenheim will be able to
attend the evening in aid of the AAF."
AAFs
Moon Bear Rescue project involves rescuing suffering and endangered
Asiatic Black Bears from bile farms and bringing them to its sanctuary
in Chengdu, China. The bears, known as Moon Bears because of the
golden crescents on their chests, can spend up to 20 years in
coffin-sized cages where they are milked daily for their bile.
The bile is then used in traditional Chinese medicine.
Peter
added: "All the profits from the evening will be donated
to the AAF to help with its work rescuing and treating Moon Bears."
Tickets,
priced £20 each, are available by calling 01579 347 148
or by emailing info@animalsasia.org
for more information.
