Burnham-On-Sea
parents warned over 'attempted abductions'
Parents
in Burnham-On-Sea were warned on Monday (June 16th) to be on the
look out for a possible child abducter in the area.
Schools
in the town sent out warning letters to parents (as pictured)
following two incidents - one in Highbridge's Apex Park - in which
children were approached by a man wearing a woman's wig.
The
warning letter, from Sue Horne, Burnham Infants School Headteacher,
states: "A man wearing a shoulder-length blond woman's wig
and, possibly, women's clothing tried to entice girls to accompany
him in two separate incidents recently."
"One
of these was in the Apex and the other was from the girl's own
back garden. I would urge you to be aware of where your child
is at all times."
It
comes just weeks after police issued a warning about an attempted
child abduction in Wedmore.
