The A38 near Burnham-On-Sea was closed for almost an hour on Monday evening (September 29th) after the driver of this car swerved to avoid a badger and ended up careering off the road.

The silver Ford Puma ended up on its roof, leaving the driver "shocked but otherwise not seriously hurt."

"The car had upturned, leaving the road briefly closed at around 11.15pm for recovery."

The Highways Agency was also called to the scene to remove debris from the road.

The A38 was fully re-opened again at 12.15am on Tuesday morning (September 30th) when the incident had been cleared.
