Quiet Bank Holiday weekend for Burnham's tourist trade

Traders in Burnham-On-Sea were disappointed by a poor Bank Holiday weekend of business.

While the High Street and Esplanade were busy with crowds of visitors, as pictured right, many businesses in the town reported poor trade.

Alex Turco, Chairman of Burnham's Chamber of Trade, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Trade was distinctly mediocre due to not the best weather, coupled with a lack of consumer spending power as a consequence of the credit crunch."
