Berrow beach turned into a film set for TV show

Berrow Beach was turned into a scene from the ancient Egyptian desert on Thursday (June 26th) when a film production company recreated a chariot scene from the Battle of Kadesh.

The programme for National Geographic TV was about about Egyptian Pharaoh, Ramisses the Great, and the beach was used for the scene of a race between two wooden horse chariots.

Claire Faun, district council spokeswoman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The aim of the programme was to determine which design had better style and speed on a one-to-one race-off."

The TV crews filmed speed and excitement of the chariot races from every angle on the beach.
