Cashpoint
robbers attack machine at Burnham-On-Sea supermarket

Thieves
attempted to steal money from a cash machine outside a Burnham-On-Sea
supermarket on Monday morning (July 14th).
One
of the two ATM machines at the northern end of Tesco's store in
Ben Travers Way was attacked, as pictured here.
It
was left badly damaged in an apparent attempt to gain access to
the supply of cash in the machine.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
understands the attempted raid was unsuccessful and the attackers
fled empty-handed.
Police
spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "An ATM was
reported to us to have been the subject of criminal damage at
6am on Monday. A part of the machine was taken away for forensic
analysis."
The
cashpoint area remained taped off for much of the day as Burnham
police started an investigation into what happened. Anyone with
information should contact police on 0845 4567000.
"We
would like to speak to anyone who saw people acting suspicious
between 8pm on Sunday and 5.45am on Monday," added Mr Moutain.
