Conservatives announce candidate to contest Highbridge ward

Burnham-On-Sea Conservatives have this week chosen their candidate to contest the Highbridge ward in next year's County Council elections.

John Woodman, 45, was named on Friday evening (July 18th) as the person who will contest the Burnham South and Highbridge ward which is occupied by Liberal Democrat councillor Rosemary Parsons.

John, who lives in Victoria Street, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I have lived in Burnham all my life, so know the area very well and feel I can make a difference."

John, an electrician, has been a member of Burnham's Conservative group for two years, and will be contesting the election in May 2009.
