Meeting
to be held on Burnham-On-Sea sheltered housing scheme
Members
of the public are invited to share their views on Somerset County
Council's future provision of Extra Care Housing at a meeting
in Burnham-On-Sea next week.
The
public consultation meeting will take place on Friday 27th June
at Rosewood Close Sheltered Housing scheme in Rosewood Close between
2pm and 4pm. Free tea and coffee will be available and everyone
is welcome to attend and share their thoughts.
Extra
Care Housing (ECH) is housing that enables older frail people
or people with disabilities to live in their own, self-contained
homes, with easy access to care and support. Also known as assisted
living, housing with care, or very sheltered housing, it may come
in the form of communal flats, bungalow estates or retirement
villages and is a popular alternative to a care home.
The
meeting is one of several being organised around the County by
Somerset County Council's Adults Social Care and Supporting People
teams. They are reviewing provision and are keen to hear the public's
views on what is needed in Somerset for the next 10 to 15 years.
For
more information about the meeting or to request a questionnaire
in Minehead call 0844 8009283.
