A white BMW 5-series car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at around 12.15pm.

The pedestrian was taken to Weston General Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

He has been named as 80-year-old Gordon Vivian Ireland, from Rooksbridge.
