Burnham-On-Sea Gateway Club members board coach for summer break

More than 70 Burnham-On-Sea people who suffer from learning difficulties boarded a coach at the start of a special summer break on Monday (June 9th).

Burnham and Highbridge Gateway Club has organised a five-day break in Minehead for the group of 70 members and carers.

"The annual getaway is held every year at this time to give mums, dads and carers a few days' break - it's good for everyone," said Gateway Club Chairman Arthur Thorogood.

Sedgemoor District Council Chairman Dennis Davey and group leader Barabara Thorogood waved off the excited group outside the Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close on Monday morning, as pictured above.

The party travelled to Minehead by steam train on Monday afternoon and will be returning later in the week on a horse-drawn boat on the Tiverton Canal.
